Job Description R&D Si-Photonics Subsystems Engineering Group Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division is seeking an R&D scientist to be part of a development team for our most advanced, future generation optoelectronic technologies based on Si-Photonics. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that owns the definition and demonstration of highly integrated SiPh optoelectronic circuits and subsystems for data center connectivity and other applications.Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Defining the methodologies and test plans for characterizing DC and high-speed performance of transceiver TOSAs and ROSAs, and Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) components and associated sub-systems (PICs + TIAs/DRVs) Planning, building and qualifying testing infrastructure, developing equipment control software and enabling R and D test automation and executing experiments Analyzing data, conducting data reviews, and making design recommendations Debugging unexpected results and discrepancies Intel Silicon Photonics Product Division SPPD is at the forefront of silicon photonics integration. Qualifications Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. (or completion of PhD within 4 months) or M.Sc. with 3 years work experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science, or related disciplines. Experience with high-speed testing (example VNAs, AWGs, DCA, and coherent equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience with different modulation formats (PAM4, NRZ) and knowledge of current generation and next generation optical transceiver architectures. Experience in transceivers, optical communications, CPO and related photonics devices and subsystems. Experience in photonics device physics, semiconductor lasers, optical amplifiers, fiber optics, and integrated optics is a bonus.
