We lead tourism marketing and development initiatives to benefit all regions of our province. Tourism Nova Scotia operates five provincial visitor information centres (VICs) in Nova Scotia. The VICs are in: Amherst, Halifax Airport, Peggy’s Cove, Port Hastings, and Yarmouth. VICs are one of the first points of contact for many visitors to Nova Scotia. Our team members are the front-line ambassadors that welcome visitors and provide travel counselling services. For more information on Tourism Nova Scotia please visit the following link: tourismns. ca/ About Our Opportunity As a student Maintenance Worker at the Amherst Visitor Information Centre, you are a part of a team responsible for assisting with the seasonal maintenance of the interior and exterior of the Amherst Visitors Information Centre building and grounds including required janitorial duties. This opportunity would be a great fit for a student that enjoys being outside, likes working with various types of equipment and is able to perform physical tasks. As a Maintenance student, you will gain hands on experience, and receive training and mentorship from our maintenance employees. This position reports to the Amherst VIC Maintenance Supervisor. Primary Accountabilities Daily responsibilities include assisting with : Mowing, planting, seeding, weeding, cutting and trimming trees and bushes), painting, routine equipment and tools maintenance,.
