The Prevention and Intervention Program Pediatric PsychoOncology Lab at Stanford School of Medicine is seeking 1-2 dedicated undergraduate students interested in gaining clinical research experience to join our lab this summer or fall. The Prevention and Intervention (PI) Program, housed in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and under the direction of Dr. Victoria Cosgrove, studies ways to both prevent the emergence of affective psychopathology as well as the efficacy of evidence-based interventions. Dr. Cosgrove is a child and family psychologist with training in multimodal individual and group interventions (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.) as well as training in behavioral and molecular genetics. Active Pediatric psychosocial oncology studies within the PI program include an examination of families of children undergoing cancer treatment and their psychosocial needs; and development of evidence-based physician training on psychosocial factors of families impacted by cancer. The lab is currently comprised of faculty and doctoral candidates in clinical psychology. Candidates should be able to commit to 5-10 hours/week. Students joining the lab can do so on a committed volunteer basis or for course credit.
